From a Sister in Gaza

As-salaamu alaykum wa rahmatuLlaahi wa barakaatuh,

I?m sharing this with the kind permission from a Sister (from one of the online groups that I belong to).  It is an excerpt from one of her recent conversation with a Sister (her close friend) who is in Gaza.  This is not the average article/news that you normally read everyday, but rather a sincere advice from our sister in faith who is in the midst of this war.  I hope that we?ll all take heed from the reminder.

We ask Allaah to rectify the situation of the Muslims, and to unite our hearts on the guidance of Tawheed and the Sunnah, and to avert the plots and evils of our enemies, and may the peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and all those upon the righteous path, ameen.

<<I spoke with her on the phone 3 days ago.  When I called, it was 9 in the morning Monday her time, but she had just gone to sleep a few hours earlier.  The Israelis were bombing in her neighborhood all night.

?..

She is currently living in a 3rd floor apartment, living with her brother’s wife and children.  After fighting for 1 1/2 years, her brother just died from brain cancer last Wednesday, subhanAllah.  Some of you actually made donations to help his family purchase his medications a few months ago, when I sent an email request.  JazakAllah bikhair for everyone who donated.  The family was very grateful.

His kids are ages 6, 4, and 5 months.  The 4 yr old, al-Hussein, keeps asking when the Israelis will bomb their house, so that he can join his Baba in jannah.

She said that she was at first very sad that he had passed, but she is happy that he no longer has to endure the bombing.  He was unable to move, and cried a lot during his last few days, but she said when he passed he had a smile on his face.  Ina illahi wa ina lillahi rajiuun.  He was 35.

I have told her that I’m sending out updates about her and her family, and that I have been asking everyone to make du’a for her family.  I have also passed along the salaams that sisters have sent to her.  Alhamdulillah, she wishes to pass a message along to all of the muslims, so please share her thoughts with anyone that you feel will benefit…

“We are not scared anymore.  When you talked to me a few days ago I was crying for it to end.  But today, you find me a different person, no?  Did you expect me to be crying when you called?  (I said I did expect that)  No, I am not crying anymore because I am ready to be in al-akhirah.  My only concern is for my brother’s children.  I don’t want to leave them in this world, in this life, without protection.”

“We (the people of Gaza) have died and its time for the muslims (around the world) to wake up. Gaza’s people want to show you the real Islam.  The real Islam is not just claiming that you are muslim… you have to prove that you are a real muslim by your actions. please be sure that you are a real muslim before facing Allah.”

“please review your iman. ask yourself many questions and keep learning.”

“life is the exam, it is dangerous here. think of this tiny place like Gaza, 1.5 million people and they face death every day.  there is no place safe here.  we are all just waiting for al-akhirah.  Death is never far from our minds, we walk around with ‘la illaha illa Allah’ on our lips because we don’t know if we will get a chance to speak again.”

“but don’t be sad for us.  be sad for the Muslims who do not have Allah on their minds all the time. be sad for the Muslims who are not doing all that they can to do good deeds and help other muslims for the sake of Allah.”

“think of allah first.  what is your role in this life? why is america still not muslim?  Everyone should invite someone else to be muslim.  Inshaa Allah America will become muslim and that would be the best for the world because then the american government might change.”

Please understand that these are quotes from my friend, speaking her mind freely in an hour-long conversation.  I was not able to write out everything she said, but I include the main points that she wanted to send out to the muslims. >>

{ O you who believe!

When you meet (an enemy) force, take a firm stand against them

and remember the Name of Allaah much (both with tongue and mind), so that you may be successful.

And obey Allaah and His Messenger,

and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength departs, and be patient.

Surely, Allaah is with the patient.

And be not like those who come out of their homes boastfully and to be seen of men,

and hinder (men) from the path of Allaah;

and Allaah is encircling and thoroughly comprehending all that they do.}

Surah Al-Anfal 45-47
